Not your typical spring break trip // Exploring our new home!

This year for spring break, we decided to keep things small, and Duke flew back home to the valley! We did this to save money, and also to spend quality time with family, because once May comes, we will be go go go until who knows! Two weeks after being in Colorado for graduation, we are headed to Iceland & Europe for probably a month, but maybe longer!

Duke flew into Baltimore Airport. This isn't ideally the airport we like to use, as it is not as nice, and it takes a lot longer to get to than Dulles. BUT, sometimes, ya gotta do stuff to save money! When booking flights, we will sometimes switch up airports if there is a drastic price difference. Just something to keep in mind when shopping for flights. In this case, it actually worked out well for us, because we were already so close to Dover, DE! For those that don't know, we are pcsing to Dover the end of July. We wanted to explore the area beforehand, scope out the best neighborhoods, find some restaurant gems, and we had a meeting with our realtor. Yup, a realtor! When did we become such adults?!?

Our new home is about 25 mins away from Lewes Beach. Lewes is the cutest beach town! There is a strip of restaurants and shops that are all quaint and have that sought after beach feel. We walked around and explored boutiques, an antique shop, a bookstore, and the most perfect little candy store. The beach was quiet and absolutely beautiful. Lewes is on the way to Rehoboth, and tends to be more peaceful than the more developed area that is Rehoboth. I predict many beach days in our future, which we are so excited about!!

The photo below was taken when I dropped Duke back off at the airport to fly back to USAFA after the most perfect week at home. We were too excited to be sad. This airport 'see you later' was the VERY LAST ONE for this stage of our life. Unfortunately with the military way of life, airports will always be something that we have to deal with. From moving abroad, to work trips, and even deployments; but they will never be as frequent as they were for the past four years. Long distance for us will be over in 1.5ish months, and then we will FINALLY have the same residency!!!

As always, thank you for supporting us & following along on our journey.

Xo, Lauran
